All S.T. Dupont Table Lighter Models Guide (1940s–Today)

S.T. Dupont table lighters represent some of the most ambitious pieces the brand has ever created. Larger and far more sculptural than their pocket counterparts, these models were designed not only as functional objects, but also as decorative works of art. While S.T. Dupont is best known for classics such as the Ligne 1 and Ligne 2, the table lighters remain among the rarest and most impressive creations in the company’s history. Many were produced as limited editions, diplomatic gifts, or special commissions, combining craftsmanship, scale, and symbolism in a way few luxury objects ever have.
With this collector’s guide, we aim to document every known S.T. Dupont table lighter, ranging from early petrol models to Ligne 2 table formats, limited editions, and lesser-known one-off creations. Wherever possible, we include launch years, technical details, production information, and historical context.
Please note that this guide is still actively under construction.
A large amount of information surrounding S.T. Dupont table lighters remains undocumented or scattered across private collections and old catalogues. If you are a collector, historian, or owner of a model not yet featured here, we would be very grateful if you got in touch. Any photos, documentation, or additional knowledge could help expand this archive and preserve information for the wider S.T. Dupont collecting community.
Jeroboam (1930s-begin 1950s)

The Jeroboam, named after the oversized champagne bottle, is one of S.T. Dupont’s earliest and most impressive table lighters. Produced during the 1940s, it operated on petrol and featured a built-in wand that could be detached and lit directly from the flame. This clever design allowed the user to light cigars, pipes, or candles without having to move the heavy lighter itself, adding both practicality and a certain elegance to the piece.
| Fuel type | Petrol (lighter fluid) + flint |

| Production years | Circa 1940s |
| Known for | Historic significance, wick-based ignition, classic rectangular shape |
Ligne 1 Desk Lighter (1970s-?)

As the name suggests, the Ligne 1 Desk Lighter is a desk-sized variant of the classic Ligne 1. Sharing the same gas refill system and internal mechanics, this version is simply elongated for a more prominent presence on the desk. It retains its flat base, vertical flint wheel, and reliable flame control (it only came as a BR with flame regulator), while offering the same understated elegance as the standard Ligne 1.
| Fuel type | Butane gas (Red refill) + flint |
| Size | 40 × 14 x 140 mm |
| Production years | 1970s (?) |
| Known for | Taller desk-sized version of the Ligne 1, flat-base design, identical internals |
| Reference codes | ? |
Ligne 2 Desk Lighter (1990s-?)

As the name suggests, the Ligne 2 Desk Lighter is a desk-sized variant of the classic Ligne 2. Featuring the exact same mechanics, fuel system, and ignition setup, it simply offers a larger vertical format designed to sit flat and prominently on a desk. It retains all the characteristics of the regular Ligne 2, including the signature “ping,” horizontal roller, and reliable gas + flint operation.
| Fuel type | Butane gas (Gold refill) + flint |
| Size | 37 × 11 x 124 mm |
| Production years | 1990s (?) |
| Known for | Taller desk-sized version of the Ligne 2, flat-base design, identical internals |

Jeroboam (1990s-?)

The Jeroboam of the 1990s is a modern reinterpretation of S.T.Dupont’s earliest and most imposing table lighter, originally produced in the 1940s. While it carries the same monumental proportions and name, this reissue replaced the original petrol mechanism with a contemporary butane system, operated by flint ignition. The signature lift‑arm design remains, as does the horizontal roller familiar to Dupont collectors.
In contrast to the earlier version, the detachable lighting wand was removed, and the lighter was re‑engineered for convenience and precision. The ribbed top element now serves as a flame‑adjustment slider, allowing the user to fine‑tune the flame height with ease. Combining traditional form with modern engineering, the 1990s Jeroboam stands as a bridge between S.T.Dupont’s early craftsmanship and its later technical sophistication.
| Fuel type | Butane gas (Red refill) + flint |
| Size | 72 × 26 x 101 mm |
| Production years | 1990s (?) |
| Known for | Lift‑arm ignition, horizontal roller, flame‑adjustment slider, re‑engineered gas version of the original Jeroboam |

Cylindrique (1971–1997)

Introduced in 1971 and discontinued around 1997, the S.T. Dupont Cylindrica is a rare and modernist interpretation of a luxury gas table lighter. Crafted in a distinctive cylindrical form with vertical pinstripes, it stands out with its minimal yet elegant silhouette. The ignition is activated by rotating a finely ribbed neck mechanism, and it offers dual flame modes: a wide flame or a longer, classic-style flame. Standing 11 cm tall and 4.4 cm wide, this substantial piece carries both presence and performance.
| Fuel type | Butane gas (? refill) + flint |
| Size | 110 × 44 mm |
| Production years | 1971–c.1997 |
| Known for | Cylindrical silhouette, twist-to-ignite mechanism, dual flame modes |
| Variants | One with a dual flame mode (Single or double), one with only the single flame |
