Every lighter in our collection is genuine vintage or pre-owned. We source each piece individually — from estates, auctions, and private collectors across Europe — and examine it carefully before it is ever listed. We are not authorised dealers of the brands we carry, and we do not sell new or reproduction pieces. What you see in our catalogue is exactly what you receive: an original lighter with its own history.

Yes. All lighters that come through The Lighterhouse are meticulously serviced before being listed. We restore each piece either in-house or through our trusted service partners to ensure it works as expected, holds its value, and does not deteriorate further. Every lighter is sent with a flint, with one exception: certain highly collectible pieces are shipped without a flint, as prolonged storage with a flint can damage delicate mechanisms. Lighters are not sent with fuel due to international shipping regulations.

Yes, servicing is a core part of what we do. Each lighter is inspected, cleaned, and restored to working order before it is offered for sale. We work both in-house and with specialist service points. The condition of every piece is described honestly in its listing, and where relevant, we note any limitations, wear, or character marks that come with its age.

We stand behind the quality of our work. While vintage lighters are not new products and naturally carry the character of their age, we guarantee that each lighter is in fully working condition. If a lighter does not function as described upon arrival, please contact us and we will find a fair solution together. We value every customer relationship and handle each case individually.

We ship worldwide. Orders are typically dispatched within one to three business days of payment. Delivery times vary by destination: for the Netherlands, one to two business days; within Europe, three to seven business days; and internationally, between five and fourteen business days depending on the country and customs processing. All shipments are carefully packaged and insured. You will receive a tracking number as soon as your order is on its way. You can contact us if you need your order faster, we offer a Express shipping service upon request.

We accept all major credit and debit cards, PayPal, bank transfer, and various local payment methods depending on your region. All payments are made secure and provided by Mollie. We accept cash for in-person visits to our location in Delft. Please note that under Dutch law, cash transactions for goods are limited to a maximum of €3,000. We do not accept cryptocurrency. If you have a specific payment question, feel free to reach out before placing your order.

We are based in the old historic centre of Delft, in the Netherlands. While we primarily operate online, we do welcome visits by appointment. If you would like to view a lighter in person, discuss a purchase, or arrange a local collection, please contact us in advance so we can plan accordingly. We are not a walk-in shop, but we are always happy to welcome collectors and enthusiasts.

All our shipments are insured. In the rare event that your order arrives damaged or does not arrive at all, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and, where applicable, photographs of the packaging and damage. We will open an investigation with the carrier and work with you toward a resolution. Your peace of mind matters to us.

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery, provided the lighter is returned in the same condition in which it was received and in its original packaging.
