A gold plated Ligne 1 in the larger of the two sizes from the 1990s, its case cut with the fine vertical lines that run the full height of the body and continue up onto the lid. The finish reads warm and bright under light, with the fluting catching a series of thin highlights as the lighter turns in the hand.

This is the BR variant, distinguished from the plainer Ligne 1 by the small wheel set into the latch, which lets you adjust the flame rather than accept whatever the mechanism gives you. That wheel and the proportions it sits within went on to define the Ligne 1 and Ligne 2 that followed, which is why this particular version tends to draw more attention from collectors than the earlier models it succeeded. In use it is the same lever action that Dupont lighters are known for, thumb against the cap, the flint wheel and gas valve engaging in a single motion, but with the added control of dialling the flame up or down to suit.

This one comes with its original box and papers, and is in great condition, meaning only light wear consistent with its age and the kind of careful handling that keeps a lighter like this looking closer to new than not. Nothing here affects how it presents or how it works. It has been fully serviced in our workshop, so it is ready to be filled and carried rather than kept back as a shelf piece.
