A silver plated Ligne 1 from the 1970s, built to the elongated desk size rather than the pocket format the model is best known in. The fine ribbed lines run the full height of the case in tight horizontal bands, catching the light in narrow strips as the piece turns, and the same pattern continues onto the cap so the two read as a single continuous surface when closed.

This desk version uses the same gas refill system and internal mechanics as the pocket Ligne 1, simply built taller, and it stands on a flat base rather than needing to be set down on its side. The flint wheel sits vertically on the front face, within easy reach of the thumb, and the lighter was made with a flame regulator, giving a degree of control over the flame that the plain pocket versions do not have. Set on a desk, it has the presence of a small object made for permanent use rather than for a pocket.

The condition here is excellent, with very little to suggest this lighter has seen much handling at all, and it presents close to how it left the shop. It comes complete with its original box and papers. It has been fully serviced in our workshop and is ready to fill and use, whether that means keeping it on a desk as intended or simply enjoying it as a piece in its own right.
