A Cartier Trinity from the 1970s in gold plating, the case built on the oval Les Must body that Cartier made its own through that decade. The surface has a soft, brushed texture that runs along the length of the case, catching the light unevenly rather than throwing it back in one sheet, and the gold plate warms the tone of the whole piece rather than sitting cold on the surface.

The Trinity takes its name from the three interlocking bands that give the case its identity, echoing the Trinity ring in miniature and giving the lighter a texture to run a thumb across rather than a flat expanse of metal. Underneath that decoration sits the oval Les Must case, the body Cartier built its lighter range around through the 1970s, with the flip action opening in one motion and the flame sitting ready the moment the lid clears the mechanism. It is a shape and a mechanism that has stayed recognisably Cartier ever since.

This one is in great condition, showing only the light wear you would expect of a lighter of this age that has been well looked after rather than left to sit. It comes with its original Cartier box, and it has been fully serviced in our workshop, so it lights properly and is ready to carry from the day it arrives.
