However, even though crucial parts may have been serviced/replaced, an older lighter may still leak gas over time, or miss a spark. These lighters have aged over decades, resulting in some internal wear that may have accumulated and will affect their performance, and there is nothing to be done about it. Just know that you are buying a vintage product, and it can happen that they may not perform as expected of a new lighter.

A Dunhill Rollagas from 1993 in gold plating, finished in the barleycorn pattern that covers the body in tight, even cross-hatching. It catches the light in small points rather than a single sweep, which is what gives this finish its depth against the smoother gold of the cap and base. The engine-turned panel on the front, with its concentric circle motif, sits clean against the texture surrounding it.
The Rollagas took its name from the rolling ignition wheel under the thumb, which both strikes the flint and opens the gas in a single motion, and it is the feature collectors look for first on this model. Butane did away with the smell of petrol fuel, and the flame itself is set with a gas control valve rather than guessed at. It is a mechanism built for one-handed use, over and over, without the lighter changing in the hand each time.
This particular lighter comes with its original box and papers, and the papers are themselves worth keeping: they date the lighter to 1993 and record its sale on the 29th of November 1994, in Berlin, giving it a documented history most lighters this age have long since lost. The condition is excellent, with only the smallest signs that it has ever been used at all. It has been fully serviced in our workshop and is ready to fill and carry.
