This S.T. Dupont Urban in silver plating takes the line and sits it at an angle, the whole body built from the same brushed finish rather than broken up into separate panels. The effect is almost architectural: a slab of metal with its corners cut asymmetrically rather than squared off, so the lighter reads as a single sculpted piece rather than a cap sitting on a body. The brushed surface catches light in long straight lines along its length, a contrast to the polished edges that frame it.
The design is a deliberately modernist one, built around a distinctive locking mechanism rather than the latch wheel or base screw used elsewhere in the Dupont range. Flame adjustment sits as a slider on the rear of the body, which is unusual in itself, placing a control elsewhere left as a simple wheel at the base. It is a lighter built for someone who wanted their Dupont to look like nothing else on the table, the geometry doing the work that engraving or lacquer does on the rest of the range.
