However, even though crucial parts may have been serviced/replaced, an older lighter may still leak gas over time, or miss a spark. These lighters have aged over decades, resulting in some internal wear that may have accumulated and will affect their performance, and there is nothing to be done about it. Just know that you are buying a vintage product, and it can happen that they may not perform as expected of a new lighter.

A Ligne 1 in the small size, finished in red lacquer and dating to the 1970s, with gold plating warming the metal along the edges and base. The lacquer panels sit flat against the body, taking on a deep, glassy red that darkens toward the seams where the plated frame meets the colour.
This is the BR version of the Ligne 1, the Briquet Reglable, and the detail that sets it apart from earlier examples of the model is the adjustment wheel set into the latch, which lets you tune the flame rather than take whatever the lighter gives you. That wheel and the proportions around it became the template every later Ligne 1 and Ligne 2 followed, which is why the shape in your hand here feels so immediately familiar even on an early piece. The latch itself does double duty, striking the flint and lifting the lid in one motion, so lighting it becomes a single practised gesture rather than several small ones.
This one is in good condition, with visible wear consistent with genuine use, the kind a lighter gets from years spent in a pocket rather than a drawer. No box or papers are included. It has been fully serviced in our workshop, so once filled it will light the way it did the day it left the factory.
