However, even though crucial parts may have been serviced/replaced, an older lighter may still leak gas over time, or miss a spark. These lighters have aged over decades, resulting in some internal wear that may have accumulated and will affect their performance, and there is nothing to be done about it. Just know that you are buying a vintage product, and it can happen that they may not perform as expected of a new lighter.

A Dunhill Rollagas from the 1980s in gold plate, its body cut with a fine linear engine-turning that catches the light in parallel streaks across every face. The concealed hinge sits flush along the top edge rather than showing as a separate barrel, keeping the lines of the case uninterrupted from end to end, and the plating has the warm, even cast that gold-plated brass takes on rather than the colder tone of steel.
The Rollagas took its name from the rolling ignition wheel set into the side of the case, and it remains the detail that defines the model. A single thumb stroke along the textured roller both strikes the flint and opens the gas control valve beneath it, lighting the lighter with none of the mechanical clatter of a flint-wheel lighter and almost none of the sound at all. Butane did away with the smell of petrol fuel that earlier lighters carried in a pocket, and the gas valve lets the flame be set rather than left to chance, which is a large part of why the model built the following it has.
This example is in excellent condition, showing very little sign of use and presenting close to how it left the shop decades ago. It comes without its original box or papers. It has been fully serviced in our workshop and is ready to fill and carry, the roller moving under the thumb exactly as it was built to.
